Healthy Brain – Machine Learning for Cancer Research

Ton Coolen has been appointed as full professor of Machine Learning for Medicine at Radboud University’s Faculty of Science.

Ton CoolenCoolen is an expert in the development and application of new mathematical methods for the analysis of complex systems with many variables.

In his position at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, he will focus on the development of new mathematical and computational (machine learning) methods to analyse complex genetic and molecular medical data, with an emphasis on their applications in cancer research. The aim is to allow for more effective use of these data in order to improve the personalisation of complex medical treatment in precision medicine.
