European sustainable and innovative mobility – Polis conference
December 2 @ 08:00 - December 3 @ 17:00
In December 2020, the Arnhem Nijmegen City Region and the Province of Gelderland will host the large international Polis Conference on sustainable mobility. With the conference, the Arnhem Nijmegen City Region wants to put itself on the European map together with the Province of Gelderland as a sustainable, international, innovative mobility region.
Polis is a network of 78 European cities and regions cooperating on mobility innovation and sustainability in cities and regions. Around 600 European policy makers from European cities & regions, EU member states and from the European Commission come to the annual conference.
Thinking differently about mobility
The Arnhem Nijmegen region is growing and mobility needs are changing. This requires a different way of thinking that fits in with future urban and regional development. Thinking differently about mobility runs through the Polis programme as a common thread, to inspire participants. The region will present itself on how we cross borders, on green public transport concession, new mobility services such as eHUBS, international train connections, cycling highways, mobility behavior approaches and sustainable logistics. With that, we build strongly on the international Velo-city 2017 conference and Nijmegen European Green Capital 2018.
