The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) EDOCobot of Denmark and the EDIH BOOST Robotics EASTNL are joining forces to enhance their services for manufacturing SMEs in their respective regions. On Tuesday the 2nd of July, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the hub-managers of the two EDIHs.With the launch of this partnership, the EDIHs have committed to working together to consolidate services where feasible, organize activities and events to aid digital transformation in SMEs, and strengthen the support ecosystem in both regions.EDIH Odense focuses around robotics skills and the promotion of the use of collaborative robots. Lars Kristensen, projectmanager EDIH Odense: “The purpose of EDIH Odense is to improve robot skills and increase the deployment of useful collaborative robots (cobots) in SMEs and small mid-caps and thereby support production in Denmark and Europe, supporting DIGITAL objectives.“Robin Burghard, hub manager of EDIH BOOST Robotics EastNL, stated, "There is a strong demand from our SMEs to learn how to implement robotics in their daily operations. The Odense region is well-known as established Robotics hub, due to a combination of a robust robotics ecosystem and strong educational institutions, which brings great opportunities for companies from the East Netherlands. The shared focus of EDIH Odense and BOOST Robotics East Netherlands on the manufacturing industry enables companies from both regions to benefit from this cooperation.”The EDIHs serve as regional one-stop-shops for SMEs embarking on digital transformation. They support businesses across Europe by raising awareness, fostering adoption, and aiding the implementation of digital technologies in products, services, daily operations, and processes to enhance business outcomes and strengthen positions in European value chains.
