<p>Five (innovative) AI projects involving parties from the eastern Netherlands have been selected for funding from the AiNed programme. From more than 100 proposals submitted, 33 qualified proposals were assessed, of which four innovation labs and five learning communities were selected nationwide. The grant is designed to further strengthen innovation power and digital transformation in the Netherlands.</p><p>In the eastern Netherlands, the following initiatives have been selected:</p><h3>Technical industry</h3><p>1. &nbsp; &nbsp;The project ‘MKB and MBO verzilveren de kracht van AI’, including the Gelderland Graafschap College and CIVON Innovation Centre (Achterhoek), led by Kennispact MBO Brabant, focuses on preventing failures and improving product quality in production processes.</p><p>2. &nbsp; &nbsp;LErende MAakindustrie (AMELIA), driven by Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (Zwolle) and University of Twente, focuses on the use of AI in factories to optimise processes and make machines more autonomous.</p><p>3. &nbsp; &nbsp;The ‘Maritime AI InnovationLab’, led by MARIN from Wageningen, develops AI applications for designing and building future ships and streamlining shipping operations.</p><h3>Health &amp; Care</h3><p>4. &nbsp; &nbsp;The ‘PROSPER InnovationLab’, led by Radboud UMC, Radboud University (Nijmegen) and Maastricht University Medical Center (MUMC+), is developing a platform for secure data exchange between hospitals, using AI to improve communication between patient and healthcare provider using visual anatomical representations.</p><h3><br>Energy &amp; Sustainability</h3><p>5. &nbsp; &nbsp;The ‘FlexLab AI Innovation Lab’, led by Alliander and TNO, is developing, testing and evaluating advanced AI technologies that contribute to flexible power consumption and solving electricity network capacity problems.</p><p>The AI Hub East Netherlands is involved in these initiatives and will share the knowledge developed and connect interested companies and institutions to the projects.</p><h3><br>About AiNed</h3><p>The AiNed programme came about thanks to the cooperation of stakeholders, partners and participants from the AI network and ecosystem of the Dutch AI Coalition.
