SaXcell gives discarded textiles a second chance
02
oktoberOld cotton clothing that would normally be incinerated is getting a second life thanks to SaXcell. SaXcell, which stands for Saxion Cellulose, is an innovative fiber made by chemically recycling waste cotton. This means that clothing that would otherwise end up in landfills can now be processed into new high-quality textile fibers. This spin-off from Saxion University of Applied Sciences is pushing textile recycling forward, aiming for fully circular textile production in Twente with its cellulose fiber invention. By participating in the RegioGreenTex project, even more sustainable steps are on the horizon.
