Our goal is to contribute to the sustainability of the economy and provide society with clean, reliable and affordable energy.

Eastern Netherlands is the ideal testing ground

Eastern Netherlands has developed into an ideal testing ground for Smart Energy Hubs.  Around 50 business parks have been identified as potential sites for these hubs, giving the region a leading role in the national energy transition.

To realize our vision, we have set up a program in the Eastern Netherlands to realize Smart Energy Hubs, create the right preconditions and learn from them.  We strive for continuous improvement and innovation by learning from each realized energy hub. Our approach is focused on realization, collaboration and knowledge sharing, both internally and with our external partners and stakeholders.

Core to our approach is the use of hub directors who act as bridge builders to drive hub development.

Our mission is to accelerate the energy transition through the development and implementation of energy hubs, providing sustainable, local energy solutions that help make the economy more sustainable and improve the energy independence of communities.

Concrete solutions

As a result of our efforts, we are realizing energy hubs in 10 locations in the Eastern Netherlands. These hubs are partnerships that bring together, store, convert and distribute various forms of renewable energy, such as solar and wind energy, to meet local energy needs. Through these hubs, we offer concrete solutions that contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and promoting sustainability. Based on this, we will drive the development of more hubs in the region.

The provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel and Oost NL are the initiators of the acceleration program Smart Energy Hubs.
